I chose an image from my sketch book to develope into my screen print, I'm a little worried of the out come because iv not yet come out of a screen print work shop with a successful print and that's after 8 workshops. After the printing workshop with Mike in the computer suite I feel slightly comfortable with the prosess and how it works he explained everything to detail, the man is lituraly a god send for me.
I then put the image into photo shop and used the methods that Mike had shown us to be able to print two positives ready for the screen printing process.
We prepped the screens and vacuumed our images onto the screen, after washing the screen and letting it dry the access paint will be gone and ready to go to vacum beds.
The screen is assembled to the vacum bed ready for us to make some prints.
The problem we faced was having different colours, we had to use the table on its side was rather difficult, minimised the work space for the both of us but we managed with a bit of good old fashion team work.
Lining the prints up was horrible, even though we used tape to navigate the paper it still was never lined up, we think it was because of the codatrace fooled and would never sit level, so minutes was spent lining both the images up.
Not the best photo because the lighting was rubbish but here is the final print, I can now say iv had a successful screen print work shop. I'm really happy with this print, not because I think it's good just the fact that I actually printed somthing work looking at. The grandad is becoming the grandson... I think
