Searching for briefs
I'm wanting to approach this task differently from any other modual. I want to find briefs that challenge my art work, express my skills and show my full potential. To do so I have to find briefs that I can find interesting, also have to be fun...fun for me is been able to sit down for hours in front of paper in total focus thumb nailing, story boarding, experimenting and then refining I need the inspiration to keep me motivated. I'm not going to enter these competitions to win them, I'm not entering them for prizes I'm entering them because iv never had the bolloks to do it before and now I have to...I'm going enter them for the experience and the challenge. Iv never had the courage to enter things like this before, I never thought my work looked good enough or was cleaver enough and I most definitely didn't want to put my name to bad work for everyone to see...not when I was tattooing for sure, not good business.
I want to find 3 briefs 1- a brief that has a long duration and challenging. 2 - a brief that is challenging but more safe. 3 - a brief that is quick and easy. The reason I want to do these like this is because I want to take this opportunity to experience all the different types of work. We've been tort that when your a professional illustrator briefs come all shapes and sizes. E.g long to short brief. Challenging to safe. So I want to experiment with this. Also I'm hoping to come out of my comfort zone and see how the results come out. I do do this in the studio tasks but it's a little different now it feels like it's getting out in the the world.
I spent a good full evening searching compositions, I'm not going to blog each and everyone but most that I looked at had limits to them that I didn't want to do...or admit I couldn't do, some of the things was digital painting only, building scapes, €50 submission fee, or even some that wasn't a challenge and wouldn't be able to show much research and methods on my blog...I found a few that I was intrested in. I read them and broke them down to the very basic information. This helps me take in the info better and remember them when it comes to choosing three.

4. Illustration Friday.
A website were they give you a topic each week and you submit a illustration that goes with it.
I took a look at this because it's a quick shoot from the hip kinda brief, and like I said before I want 3 briefs 1 a long hard winded one 2 a moderate challenging one 3 a fast one. If I choose this I plan to do the Friday topics until the end of this modal task. I'm expecting some topics to be exciting some right up my ally and them some I just hate and don't want to do. But I'm hoping for that too. Will be a good to see how they come out.
5. Dnad new blood awards.
Story in one image. Choose three themes.
Comedy rebirth, rags to riches, tragedy, the quest overcoming a monster.
3 images jpeg a 30 second video deliverable.
I highlighted the things I found important to the brief and some things that I can apply my strengths to.
I blacked out the areas that have no intrest to me to help me read it and take it in.
I thought this would be an interesting brief to take on, I did some further work by brain storming but when it came to it I couldn't see how my style fit with it, and I couldn't feel that spark.
Some research for this brief
Iv decided to choose choose SPECTRUM, INFECTED BY ART and ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY. The reason iv chosen these are because I think these are what I explained before. Because of the heavy work load I have all ready with other modual I'm hoping to have to make a tick list and a time table to help me hit the deadlines of the brief and to make sure that I don't forget about any of these.
