illustration friday
this weeks topic is hat
i feel that this topic has been the worse so far for brain farting. iv had no ideas for this at all usually i get a topic and have a flash of an idea in my mind but this never happened for this one. i new this was going to be a hard time to creating this one.

when drawing the ideas for this topic i didn't want to keep to typical things again. but i don't think there was a way out of that in this topic the only idea i had was hat trick but that would have taken for ever to thumbnail and end up with a solid idea and to then create it. so i though i just take a topic that uses hats like construction and use the environment to explain that. to make the image more interesting.
below is my idea refined in ink. i really wanted to go for a gritty feel on this one.
like the third world of lord of the ring i wanted there to be an age feel to it or in the past ware and tare type of thing.
im happy with the ink drawing so far but a little hesitant to choosing the colours for the digital process.
the digital finished piece isn't the best but I'm happy with that gritty texture coming through on it. what makes the image less is that glass ball thing. again i wanted to take time on it but it wasn't worth it due to this illustration friday brief being a short brief and the whole point is to spend little time on it to create 10. also the wood can be better but not as good as it can be for the time i was planning on spending on it.
