illustration friday has acutely been very challenging. its been a rather hard task but at the same time satisfying. its been a good to exercise for my practise. its been good to have a topic given to me and have to come up with an illustration with in a short time. its pushed my imagination and made me work faster with things that i would take time on such as detail, yes the detail isnt has refined as my other stuff but i used the time i had and used it well. using digital painting to colour the pieces allowed me to practise and learn more things and progress my digital level of skill... also i felt i had throughn my self into the deep end with this one... my digital skills wasn't good has i needed. i needed to be quick add throughing that colour down but i wasn't. it was only to the 6th or 7th piece were i got faster. my time management was at first great i felt on top of this task but it got to the week of moon and my time management wasn't so good. one mistake in another responsive brief and i was snowed under...due to this i feel that you can see the quality of the work slips. if the dead line for responsive was a little later by 2 weeks i would have nailed all the pieces to a quality i was happy with.
above- city - this is probebly one of my fav because i think the image works well with the topic..it dosnt show you buildings to say city but the busy legs and the different atire of the peoples legs screams out city. and the bird helps it say that aslo. i like the depth in this picture and the line of sight works well.
above -wet- i feel this is my least fav of all of them and i think its the colour choice that lets them down it. i couldnt just nail that night colour... it wasnt poping. i went well over the time i had set for this piece by hours.
again this project has allowed me to experiment with my practise and has helped me think about problems quick...and was they quick! learnt a lot about time management on this topic how too much time on a short project can be bad and how not enough can effect the project and others projects around you. and ill most defiantly keep on doing the illustration friday to keep me experimenting and pushing that practise.
