even though we are drawing and creating images almost every hour of the day its still important to me to keep up to scratch with my drawing abilities. to me drawing is like a muscle that needs to be warmed up and stretched, iv been making lots of thumb nails, roughs and digital work lately and i can tell that my i ned to warm up on observational drawing or warm that muscle up to keep my eye keen and sharp and not to get lost it quick and satisfied with drawing task been quick. even though drawing quick is a god tool for my practise its super important that i keep my observational drawing tight and clean
observational drawing is a strong point of mine and lately i have noticed that i find it difficult to draw creases with in fabric, and other textures so i set my self a evening task to draw as many screwed up pieces of paper i could before feeling i had done enough.

as you can tell the screwed up paper drawings are not strong drawings at all there not close to the level of any other of my observational drawings. i don't believe in if you can't draw something then you don't i feel if you can't draw something study it and draw it until you can, not drawing something because you can't draw it or because it makes your work look weak isn't that best approach i feel you should draw it until you can and make that drawing you didn't draw before because you couldn't draw it. learn how to draw the things you can't and your practise becomes stronger, that leads to better drawing skills and to better illustrations.
next evening task i will study the screwed up paper again but work in ink, and the time after that i aill use another media and keep going till i feel comfortable that i can draw these from my head.
