preparing for level 6

level 5 was a successful year for me. i got marks that i didn't expect in studio practice, responsive and cop...i believed that i was going to be resubmitting cop over the summer and my tutor agreed with me on that. but after making a stricked time table i believed that i could do it. i kicked my arse and got a pass on that cop with a good grade!

so learning from last year iv created a tight times table...a hard but healthy times table.

iv learned the dead lines for each project, iv made dead lines for my projects that helps me juggle each porject. last year i put so much presure on my self by not completing responsive tasks before christmas. i had all the work to do after christmas, that made a snowball effect, resulting my cop wasn't to standards for a pass, i missed dead lines. so i made this

fumetto comix will be finished over the Christmas holidays to its dead line. film project will be finished for the christmas holiday. iv made it to fit my times table (above) there will be 3 studio practice project running so i have made 3 days dedicated to studio practice projects. cop and ppp will run along side them with there own dedicated days. one day dedicated to cop might seem little but 9 and half hours dedicated graft is a long enough time.

this times table will get were i want to be.

ive broken down each project down to a list of things to do to complete the project. having a tick list is like mini goals, HUGE beliver in mini goals with in dead lines. a dead line can be so far away it can be put a side or even unmotivational due to seeing no results of getting closer to completing the project. so me having a tick list shows me what i have to do to complete the project and shows me how far away i am from the finish line.

a couple of examples of 8 of my tick lists.

My projects for level 6

drawing a day task

apologies for the lack of use of issue, iv not had a computer to get access issue. my blog posts have been created using my ipad.

for my drawing a day task i decided that i would make a visual diary of my summer. this means il be more consistent, and ill never be stuck for things to draw. The day after level 5 had finished i was going on holiday so my dairy had a good start!

HOLIDAY SKETCH BOOK

my holiday drawings had everything in, i put funny conversation in there, i rote down sounds i heard, stupid comments, illustrated things that people was doing. a few days into the holiday the family was saying " jack this needs to be in the sketch book" the dairy ended up having every ones input. it was a nice difference from looking through a bunch of photos. yeah photos are good but its nice to be able to look through this as well as photos and seeing a comment like "THE CANNON THAT LAUNCHES MOBILE DISCOS" and being reminded of the moment and been sent back to the place it was said! it was dead fun to make.

In my summer I invested in a bmx...a box gar too small for me but got me out and about.
In my dairy I jotted down some quick images of a couple things I saw on my bike rides...not too much detail just something to show that in 2016 I bought a bike and I went on adventures.

The pub inspired me loads...this pub was like some old tavern of world of war craft. There was like 100 plus people here, some in biking gear some in hiking clothing some was familys eating in the gardens. I had to draw this quick so I could remember it and draw this at a later date but to draw it the way it reminded me. Of different kinds of people in different clothing meeting and greeting and using it like a pits stop! Was amazing to see all these people geared up on there adventures...my bike made me a hippy for sure.

Strongest man weekend. We saw 2 world records broken and watched Eddie hall lift half a tunn.

Trips to the cinema to see terrible films like ghost busters..

Wedding in Scotland.

Made mates with the local steaks

I saw Wales and dolphins and a seal... For me been out in nature is amazing it's inspirational and its healthy for me to get out of the house and rough it up some mountain or just get dirty walking through log just to find a veiw or something make makes me go "luck ah tha thear" and in Scotland I was in my element when I saw the whales and othe sea life. It inspired me to draw somthing that will remind me of how I felt when I saw it...I'm a bit of a soft hippy deep down. So here I jotted down some quick info of the experience so I can record it in my dairy and later draw that piece.

Following the strong game! Back to Scotland for a fitness expo. We're the strong man quolifers was taking place. On the delayed trains we got talking to old farts who could keep there eyes open and was snoring. They had to go in the dairy.

Quick roughs of things i wanted to be reminded of when we look back at this sketch book at a later date.

Got introduced to simple Sara on our travels..she had to go in!

Creepy nights sleep with the laughing fire place.

I haven't uploaded all my pages of my dairy because it would take me forever to do, it would be too big of a video to up load, too big for a issue ( take forever ) so I hope this short video and the few pages from my dairy will do :).

My personal sketchbook

My personal idea sketch book has had some attention over the summer brake. This sketch book is for ideas that pop in my head. Thumb ailing composotion ideas for an illustration. Never for uni projects or comisions. It's for my own personal fun. I thinks that's important to have the two.

Alien illustration. Did another alien marathon and was inspired to create a comic book style cover for the saga.

Below are two characters. For Georgies mum and her husbands property development website they was after a couple of serious characters of them. So as fun I gave it a go.

Below is an experiment of how to draw clouds in ink for my wale encounter illustration that I stated in my dairy.

Watched the film fury as part of my cop project . Was lovnig the tanks and the team that run it.

Working outs for a Star Wars dog fight image.

Star Wars again.

Binged the scream serious and again wanted to make an comic book cover illustration for it.

other drawings that iv done in my summer brake.

some concept work.

refined a drawing from a scotland page from my diary.

quick sketch of an appreciation illustration

pushed an idea from my personal sketch book forward.

more concept work.

been working on some star wars AT-ST. im using this image to screen print...yup this year jack Newbert is openly got to do a screen print.

Above is a five nights at Fredys drawing. Using digital I got the chance to experiment and play around with creating light from a torch. Not there yet but really happy with the way it came out.

I'm including cop as part of my drawing a day.
My essay is based on the battle of Britian.

sky created digitaly using the brushes that i created

Below - gunner sat in his dome

The day after I refined this drawing

below - i drew a battle ship for both cop and my daily drawing task. i plan to make this into screen prints. im worried that the close ink work will bleed as one on the screen table but if i make these big enough it should work. this is a3 i plan to screen print this at a2.

a rough up on photoshop. i make quick colour thumbnails to see how it wold work coloured. ill push this idea forward because i feel that the this would be a successful painting
